General Manager (Media & Advertisement)

I am looking for an exceptional talent with proven experience in a GM or similar executive role for a Media Publisher Company. This is a new role and the person will be responsible for the success of all Singapore operations and will report directly to the CEO.

Job Description:

Goal 1: Business operations
Your primary role will be to oversee our day-to-day business operations.
Externally, you have to adapt to changes in their evolving digital media landscape rapidly. This means staying attuned to the latest news in the industry, new grants, new tech, new consumer preferences etc to identify revenue/partner opportunities and steer the company in the right direction. You will have support and 5 main touchpoints - our sales director, account director, CFO, head of content and CEO. Work with them to achieve growth benchmarks in P&L.

Internally, your work will involve the optimisation of processes at a management level. This includes designing, managing and achieving key performance goals across departments. Improve organisational effectiveness through systemisation and hands-on guidance, to establish a highly motivated work environment for staff. Routinely solve any issue in the company and at times, identify a potential problem before it even happens.

Key Goal 2: Staff growth
Lead, empower, and coach managers, to bring about growth and staff development. Implement policies and procedures to facilitate such a culture and hold regular calibration sessions to skill-match employees with their suitable career paths. Uphold standards of excellence and soaring quality.

Key Goal 3: Brand Growth
Representing the company at events, seminars and networking when required. Seek out opportunities for business growth by tapping on existing relationships and forming new partnerships for collaboration and growth.

Requirements:

  • At least 12 years of experience with a minimum 6 years in a managerial role.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Decisive decision-making with high problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong analytical ability that relies on objective data
  • (Bonus) Being well-connected in the media industry
