Group Senior Accountant
Job description
- Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting activities for the group and its subsidiaries – Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash & Bank, Monthly/Quarterly/Year-end closing activities.
- You will be applying your knowledge of IFRS accounting to prepare the financial statements for the subsidiaries and Consolidation of accounts for the Group.
- You will work closely with the business units & regional finance teams to ensure that data submissions are submitted accurately each month & for budget periods, including reporting compliance and enforcing accountability of this data.
- You will support with the year-end group statutory accounts completion and prepare audit schedules and notes. You will liaison with external auditors, tax agents, banks and other regulatory bodies.
- You will prepare the monthly reporting package for management and the Board.
- You will support with Treasury, Risk and Internal Audit activities.
- You will provide accounting shared services to the subsidiary companies, including training.
- You will be the key member to drive the implementation of the ERP & financial systems for the group and all subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing and delivering consolidated financial statements for the group
- Responsible for the interaction with business unit for timely and accurate data submissions
- Responsible for preparing and delivering financial statements & reporting for the subsidiary in Singapore & in the regions, included audited accounts
- Responsible for providing accounting shared services to the subsidiaries
- Support with Treasury, Risk and Internal Audit activities
- Support with preparation of Accounting Manual, completing periodic updates to ensure document remains fit for purpose.
- Contribution to the drafting and implementation of new accounting policies
- Implement ERP & other financial systems
- Adhoc internal and external financial reporting, analysis and modelling to support management with decision making
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA with min. 5 years’ experience in a similar Group function role or in an audit firm
- Experience in accounting under IFRS and an excellent understanding of fundamental key accounting principles
- Experience working on consolidations for a Group
- Good analytical skills and expert in Excel & Power Point
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with teams in the region and stakeholders
- Ability to support new system implementation and key projects
- Flexible and motivated team player, able to work with multi-cultural teams
