Head of Global Tax Accounting (US Tax, FIN48, SEC)
Our client is a leading unicorn in the Fintech space. New role created as part of an expansion plan and will reporting into the Group CFO.
? Our team is looking for an experienced and technically minded head of global tax to help drive the Global Finance team to be more compliant with tax issues across the group, including handling the US tax filings, advising on M&A related taxes, ESOP and share based financial tenders, expat and US personal taxes, working with our tax consultants in the US and other regions we operate in, and ensure our local tax filings are timely and accurate including VAT, WHT, CIT, tax on Dividends and more.
? In addition, the role will be the main person who ensures from an audit and accounting perspective the is complying with local and US GAAP standards and assists in the internal audits, on issues like group and local tax provisions. Also, he or she will monitor and advise on our intercompany tax treatments in relation to intercompany cash movements and the subsequent treatment, such as paid in capital or intercompany loan and the related tax treatment is accounted for in our books.
? This role will have other responsibilities, such as being responsible for day-to-day tax accounting policies, transaction monitoring and control from a tax view, working closely with the Group Financial Controller in Singapore as well as reporting to the Head of Global Finance and working on many ad-hoc projects in relation to US GAAP compliance and tax related issues connect to corporate actions.
? Excellent communication and project managing skills are essential since the role will involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders and converting the company to US GAAP for group audit purposes along with external consultants and our group auditors.
As a key member in the Global Finance Team that look after 30+ entities in South East Asia and beyond, your responsibilities will include -
? Driving the day to day monitoring of the tax reviews and advising of our corporate actions, plus any actions related to operations.
? Perform month-end closing activities independently from a tax accounting perspective.
? Prepare memo’s and insights into complex tax issues that are easily understandable to stakeholders of the company.
? Review accounting entries processed by country finance teams to ensure consistent tax accounting treatment across the group.
? Assist with preparation of documentation and schedules to fulfill audit and taxation requirements along with the local accountants, global finance team and our US consultants plus our auditor EY.
? Propose and document correct account entries and processes for operational / business activities from a tax perspective that flow to the accounting system.
? Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned, as well as using your accounting knowledge to assist the other senior members of the Global Finance team.
? ACCA/CPA/CA/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
? Minimum 8 years of accounting/audit experiences, preferable in MNCs, ability to understand complex entity structure and intercompany relationships.
? Strong knowledge in US GAAP/ IFRS.
? Prior experience in NetSuite is a must, advanced Excel skill is preferable.
? Hands-on with attention to details, responsible, organized and able to work independently.
? Conduct tax balance reconciliation with the support of the local accountants
? Audit and tax filing support:
? Support global and local audits by assisting in document or schedule preparation, pulling supporting documents for sample testing and PBC list.
? Ensure the proper local indirect tax treatments, prepare tax schedules for direct and indirect tax as required.
