Legal Counsel (Payments/Fintech)
Our client is a fast-growing business with operations across multiple international markets. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join their regional legal team. This is an opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders on a broad range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters while supporting strategic business initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer, vendor and partnership agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice to business teams on day-to-day commercial and regulatory matters.
• Support new products, partnerships and strategic initiatives from a legal perspective.
• Advise on payments, financial services and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Work closely with Compliance, Risk and business teams to manage legal and regulatory risks.
• Support corporate governance matters, internal policies and legal documentation.
• Manage external legal counsel where required.
• Keep up to date with regulatory changes and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, financial services or a leading law firm.
• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of payments and financial services regulations.
• Experience supporting cross-border legal matters is an advantage.
• Commercially minded with strong business partnering skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
