Job Description

Our client is a European shipping and Oil & Gas conglomerate with offices in several locations looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager in their teams in Singapore.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tanker Master Mariner with 5+ years of shore based Marine Quality Assurance background on oil tankers/offshore or oil majors. Reporting to the Headquarters in Europe, you will be the lead marine personnel in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilties:

  • Maintain a current knowledge of applicable Industry Regulations and Guidelines to steer towards a continued compliance of tanker operations as per OCIMF / MARPOL recommendations
  • Provide a high level of customer service to our clients and contribute to the development of strategic plans with our customers & clients
  • Engagement with Marine Assurance departments of Customers and Oil Major’s based in Asia Pacific region
  • Provide monthly reporting and highlighting all high level risks areas of the business
  • Representing Company interests at Government and non-government / Industry Forums
  • Provide marine knowledge and training to operations and support personnel
  • Undertake extensive international visits to our customers, prospects and enquirers
  • Support the Business Development Team to prepare and present marketing presentations
  • Maintain a good understanding of the current market potential and providing detailed feedback to the Business Development Team
  • Promote and report Incident and Near Misses and liaise with key stakeholders for follow up where required including incident investigation process
  • Assist where necessary with Oil Major Audits in office, at STS bases or support crafts

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Sea going career experience, preferably a valid Master Mariner’s license (Unlimited) with DCE (Oil/Gas Tanker endorsements)
  • Extensive experience in oil tanker industry and clear understanding & knowledge of related international maritime regulations and standards
  • Extensive exposure to Marine Operations and Business Development with proactive client engagement
  • Experience with OCIMF/SITTGO and industry bodies
  • Flexibility to travel to all worldwide locations as required, often at short notice
  • Full clean driving license
