Marketing Financial Controller (Consumer Tech Brand)

 

We are looking for a highly analytical Marketing Controller to join our Regional Finance team based in Singapore, overseeing Marketing spend across all APAC markets.

The Manager, Financial Controller - Marketing (APAC) will partner end-to-end with Regional and Country Marketing Teams to help manage Marketing spend, including reporting, analysis, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience partnering with Sales and Marketing teams and will thrive in a culture of accountability and transparency. The individual will have exceptional attention to detail, but will also be a strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to influence.

 

What’s on your plate:

  • Collaborate with Country and Regional FP&A and Marketing teams to ensure that Marketing spend and financials are clearly understood by wider teams.
  • Partner closely with the Regional FP&A and Marketing teams to make adjustments to existing processes with a view towards improving transparency and accuracy of our Marketing spend reports
  • Gather, analyze, and disseminate meaningful financial data throughout the organization to assist in management decision-making.
  • Provide proactive insights to highlight opportunities for improvement and find solutions to optimise spend.
  • Educate Country Finance and Marketing teams with best practices on financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support local teams during Month End Close - provide guidance and tools to help them improve accuracy and timeliness of MEC reporting
  • Design, build and implement financial controls to ensure adherence to group controlling policies.
  • Liaise with Intercompany Teams to record regional marketing charges and timely bookings by Countries

 

What you bring to the table:

  • 8-10 years of FP&A or Financial Controlling background in e-commerce / technology / Food and Beverage or similar industries
  • Background in fast-paced, MNC, entrepreneurial or startup/technology environments preferred.
  • Must have experience supporting a Marketing department and familiarity with Marketing KPIs and levers.
  • Comfortable to sit within the business unit and explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Able to explain what an accrual is to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience in providing recommendations based on financial modelling and data to senior management for strategic decision-making
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills working within a regional and matrix management.
  • Experience working with SAP and data analytics including Tableau and SQL
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration from a top-tier university, with finance qualifications (CA, CPA, ACCA)
