Regional Financial Controller (Ecommerce)

The ideal candidate should have around 10-15 years of experience with substantial knowledge in IFRS, Local GAAP, month-end close accounting, budget management and cost-controlling.

You must be a strong team player with proven leadership abilities and be comfortable supporting an INTERNATIONAL team as you will be working cross-functionally with other local teams in the Asia Pacific region, regional teams in Singapore and global teams in Europe.

Responsibilities:

Accounting

  • In-charge of full spectrum of accounting function, including the maintenance of general ledger of the regional entities, bank reconciliations and fixed assets in SAP system
  • Perform timely month end closing in SAP System and Group Financial Reporting tool (LucaNet) as per Group reporting timeline
  • Ensure that statutory accounts, and necessary local direct and indirect tax returns are submitted on an accurate and timely basis to the local authorities
  • Liaise with regional shared service center, statutory auditors, tax advisors, bankers, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement and Conduct financial due diligence and highlight any internal control risks
  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time 

Reporting

  • Ensure timely completion and submission of financial, management and budgetary reports to Management and other stakeholders
  • Present the monthly financial performance report to senior management and cost centre owners
  • Provide strategic financial information to the management team

Budgeting and Control

  • Plan, coordinate and prepare regional entities’ annual budget for approval
  • Regular review of regional entities budget, highlight variances against actuals, identify risks/ opportunities and necessary remedial actions
  • Work with the regional controlling team to prepare monthly rolling forecasts and financial projections
  • Advise Management and Board on long-term business and financial planning

Treasury

  • Forecast, monitor, and manage regional entities’ cash flow for operations, asset, and facilities maintenance
  • Forecast and manage regional entities’ treasury requirements

Leadership and Management

  • Plan, manage and control headcount requirements by liaising with senior regional business leaders and HR teams
  • Providing leadership, direction, training and management of regional finance and accounting team
  • Establishing and developing good partnership with senior management team of regional hub, teams in other countries in the region, external partners, and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification in Finance
  • Minimum 10-15 of years relevant experience, of which minimum 5 years with management responsibility
  • Extensive experience working in an MNC and at Regional Office 
  • Proven excellent communication and leadership skills are essential
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience in planning, forecasting and analysis 
  • Excellent systems and analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel - vlookup/ pivot table, Powerpoint, Word) and Google doc
  • Hands-on working experience with finance systems such as SAP/ Oracle. Prior experience working with SAP system will be a plus
