An integral member of the APAC senior Finance leadership team who is responsible for leading the Asia Pacific accounting team members to develop and maintain a best in class accounting organization and framework and related internal controls to ensure that the financial records are complete and accurate and in compliance with local laws and regulations and US-GAAP, as well as Corporate Policies.

This role should be influential on various global committees and steercos (Magellan, Ariba, PTP and ATR verticals, global statutory and compliance among others). The role is critical to: Develop an effective team demonstrating the right values and competencies that maintains effective controls. Ensure a high quality close while supporting the business. Co create a roadmap with GBS and a continuous improvement plan to improve service, standardize and scale with our business. Manage the quarterly 302 certifications, statutory filings, and balance sheet reviews across all markets.

The Chief Accounting Officer, APAC will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of the region’s financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/Standards and ethical standards with unyielding integrity.

  • Strong partnership with the Global Business Service (GBS) Service Delivery teams to standardize the process, drive efficiency and promote agility without compromising on quality. This will include co-creating and implementing a roadmap for collaboration and continuous improvement with our GBS partners with a pipeline of process improvement projects

  • Collaborate and support the Country CFOs in all areas of accounting and controls not limited to developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in support with business processes and decisions;

  • Work closing with the Corporate Finance team in areas on Finance Policies and accounting treatment, including restructuring, integration and consolidation, revenue and leasing.

  • Identify key financial issues; interpret and translate them into terms meaningful to CFOs and Business partners; proactively develops financial solutions to those requirements.

  • Lead the regional Balance Sheet Review with the APAC VP Finance and Corporate Controller

  • Strengthen and develop the organization using our competency framework. Develop a pipeline of ready now successors for all key roles

  • Leading and directly manage the APAC region and country Accounting & Controls teams

  • Participates in implementing Quality requirements in all aspects of the Finance Process; Participates in driving quality awareness in every employee; Co-ensures that employees are notified of all mandatory training and quality obligations - tracks completion of mandatory training.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 20 years of experience in MNC with a proven track record in the field of accounting, controls, people development and process improvement

  • Excellent knowledge of statutory and IFRS/US-GAAP accounting standards including related analysis and reporting

  • Led finance teams based in multiple geographical locations, ideally with a track record in upskilling capabilities of the team to better support the business for growth

  • Experienced in working with Shared Services environment

  • Possess sharp business instinct, resilience and strong leadership character traits; displays drive and ambition to be developed and grow into more senior finance roles.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills

  • Proactive, high learning agility and adaptability and enjoys working in a challenging environment, results-oriented and a team player.

  • Proven track record indirectly influencing and business partnering Senior Finance Leadership team at Corporate and Region, GM and Senior functional leadership heads, including without direct authority.

  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence key stakeholders, Familiarity with SAP, especially S4 Hana, Hyperion Enterprise and/or HFM, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Business Objects
