Financial Controller (Fintech Start-up)
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to improve our Global Finance and Accounting operations, who is able to help drive business decisions from large and sometimes incomplete data. In addition, we want people who can speak with tech people, working together to make business solutions for the team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Finance in a hands-on role, your responsibilities will include:
- 60% Accounting / 40% FP&A for 23 entities globally
- Work closely with the regional and global finance team to manage consolidation, the month-end close process, monthly reporting, P&L statements, balance sheet, cash-flow, and management reports
- Drive clean budget, planning, forecasting, financial analysis, investor reporting, and serve as a business partner
- Work closely with the external audit consultants to achieve clean annual audits and drive strong internal controls
- Work closely with external tax agents on global taxation, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions
- Drive improvements for current systems and practices
Outcomes
- Oversee regional accountants
- Look after the regional accountants, ensuring they adhere to policies set out by the company, work to the global financial timetable for monthly closing, work to best practice and to US GAAP and monthly reviews of the financial statements as well as ensuring tax filings are done on time for the ID and PH entities and personally drive the non-ID and PH entities with 3rd party consultants
- Creation of policies such as intercompany and transfer pricing
- FP&A
- Help with the creation of business analysis metrics
- Be able to construct financial metrics from scratch such as DSO days, Cashburn, Take-Rate, average cost etc
- Have experience in excel analysis to assist with company strategy such as pricing
- Forecast and budgeting for investor needs and upper management
- Finance Operations
- Involved in capital movements; money moving from one entity to another and how this affects tax and compliance issues
- Monitoring internal cash injections, ensuring intercompany balances are correct
- Assisting the Head of Global Finance in overall consolidation of financials; Balance Sheet reviews, Profit & Loss analysis, Cashflow preparation, review of regions AR and AP, Tax Compliance and other ad-hoc work such as long-range planning of the Financial Statements
- Yearly Audits and Regulatory Reporting
- Working with the local accounting team and 3rd party consultants, ensuring the yearly accounts are done in a timely manner and filed with the relevant regulatory bodies
- Assist or drive the regulatory reporting for local bodies such as MAS and OJ
