Group Finance Systems Expert (SAP/Blackline)

Our client is a global leading multinational company in the pharmaceutical industry.
 
Position Purpose
The purpose of the Group Finance Systems Administrator is to assist the Group Controller and Group Strategy & Business Planning Director in maintaining and improving the finance systems of the Company and the Company’s data integrity.
Will work closely with the GC and GS&BPD in the development, streamlining and maintenance of the finance systems and related control frameworks, as well as the supporting process policies and procedures and blueprints to ensure that the global finance team operates within a robust, validated environment. 
Help to maintain and, where necessary, implement the required systems to support the global teams to achieve the required outcomes of a highly effective finance team.
 
Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators
  • Collaboration between the IT and Finance departments as well as third parties to complete both daily responsibilities and project-related work and implement system changes
  • Monitoring the performance of financial systems and ensuring they are operating effectively and efficiently.
    • Financial system governance and control, design and maintain daily financial systems reconciliations
    • Troubleshoot systems issues as necessary and escalate items appropriately
    • Serve as the finance department contact for system issues and questions
  • Setting up and configuring financial systems to meet the needs of the company and its users.
    • Assist and support the Finance team with monthly close processes/procedures; prioritize requests that support the reconciliation for all quarterly/ annual reporting purposes, facilitate ad hoc reports, etc.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, practices, and guidelines, as well as changes in regulations and assist controlling team in updating systems where required
    • Custodian for financial master data changes (e.g GL accounts/ Cost centres) and ensure relevant hierarchies and mappings are up to date
    • Responsible for data integrity and implementation of co-ordinated testing for data validation of new functions and features in finance systems
    • Identify and implement new technologies/tools/ enhancements that streamline processes and promote process efficiencies
  • Providing training and support to users of financial systems.
    • Conduct training in conjunction with IT/Group finance for new users
    • Develop and maintain user procedure documentation for standard processes
    • Develop and maintain financial system blueprints and policy documentation
  • Instigating cost saving initiatives in relation to financial systems
    • Design and coordinate implementation solutions of using automation to increase efficiency
    • Ongoing refinement and curation of the critical financial systems tools/processes to ensure business objectives are met
  • Ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities associated with function as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (Essential)
  • Experience accounting or financial field with a focus in financial systems (Essential)
  • Advanced computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Word) (Essential)
  • SAP experience (Desirable)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills (Essential)
  • Experience in TM1 and BlackLine (Desirable)
