About the Role:
Our client is on a mission to revolutionize renewable energy investments, and we're searching for an innovative Wind Energy Development Technical Expert to lead the charge. With their sights set on Southeast Asia—particularly Vietnam and the Philippines—you'll have the chance to work on avant-garde wind power projects that make a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Wind Technical Lead: Dive deep into assessing potential wind project investments with precision and care:
  • Wind Resource Assessment: Decipher wind data, analysing everything from speed and direction to turbulence intensity, unveiling the true potential of each site
  • Micro-siting: Artfully pinpoint the best spots for turbines, ensuring maximum energy output while respecting environmental and regulatory boundaries.
  • Technology Selection: Choose the ideal wind turbine technology by meticulously evaluating site characteristics, grid infrastructure, economic factors, and maintenance needs.
  • Financial Modelling: Craft intricate Support the Financial Modelling team by providing and verifying inputs into the financial models that illuminate the economic feasibility of wind projects, detailing revenue, capital expenditures, and operating costs.
  • Project Development: To co-lead the project development of wind projects, including technical, permitting and compliance aspects, negotiation of LTSA with turbine suppliers, etc.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and strategize to mitigate technical and financial risks, whether stemming from resource uncertainty, equipment hiccups, or regulatory shifts.
  • Deal Structuring: Collaborate with legal and financial teams to forge optimal investment deals, navigating debt and equity financing, project finance, and PPAs.
  • Project Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on invested projects, tracking energy production, operational costs, and financial returns with diligence.
  • Exit Strategy: Orchestrate exit strategies, exploring avenues for sale or refinancing when the time is right.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in renewable energy, specializing in wind energy development and investment.
  • Expertise in wind turbine technology, wind resource assessment, grid connection, and project financing.
  • Proven success in managing wind power projects across Southeast Asia, especially in Vietnam and the Philippines.
  • Good network with key equipment suppliers and well versed in LTSA negotiations.
  • Deep understanding of local regulatory landscapes and permitting processes.
  • Exceptional skills in financial modelling and analysis.
  • Proficiency in project finance and adept at structuring debt and equity financing.
  • Stellar technical writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Mastery of relevant software tools (e.g., wind resource assessment software, financial modelling software, project management software).
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, with excellent communication.
  • Ready and willing to travel frequently within Southeast Asia.
