Key Responsibilities:

Conduct vessel visits and inspections to assess technical conditions.

Collaborate effectively with onboard crew and owners’ representatives, ensuring open and transparent communication.

Prepare detailed inspection reports and follow up on observations with technical managers.
-
Monitor vessel schedules, cargo operations, and overall performance.
-
Support technical managers with operational queries, technical clarifications, and incident management.
-
Oversee and coordinate timely SIRE inspection arrangements; review inspection results (SIRE, CDI, PSC, Flag State) and ensure corrective actions.
-
Review incident investigation reports and PSC deficiency closures, submitting findings to relevant parties.
-
Track and follow up on negligent cases and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Collect, review, and analyse key performance indicator (KPI) reports from managers.
-
Supervise performance reporting for chartered vessels, including semi-annual reviews and claims handling.
-
Monitor vessel security with a focus on war zone entries and approve security assessments accordingly.
-
Liaise with insurance and legal teams on potential claims and coating-related issues.
-
Coordinate and assess coating inspections for chemical tankers; manage repair evaluations and follow-up actions.
-
Handle tank coating damage (e.g., blistering) in coordination with manufacturers and insurers.
-
Review and approve owners’ expenses, monthly cash calls, and ad-hoc funding requests.
-
Assist with annual and pre-delivery budget planning.
-
Coordinate crew changes in compliance with charter party terms and oil major requirements.
-
Approve crew changes and conduct briefings for senior officers (Masters and Chief Engineers).
-
Compile and present weekly and monthly reports to senior management, covering incidents, damages, vetting, and performance.
-
Submit quarterly technical reports as per Bareboat Charter Party obligations.
-
Act as a liaison between technical managers, charterers, insurers, and external stakeholders.
-
Provide support and back-up to the Head of the Asset Monitoring Team.
Skills & Experience Required:
-
Minimum 24–36 months sailing experience as Master.
-
Extensive sailing experience on chemical, oil, or product tankers.
-
Prior shore-based experience in operations, with knowledge of:
