Primary Responsibilities - HSSEQ

  • Responsible for ALL HSE related documentation in office as well as vessels
  • Function as Alternate DPA/ACSO of the Fleet
  • Responsible for arranging Audits and surveys across Fleet as well as DOC Audit
  • Function as Liaison officer for all matters dealing with Class and Flag
  • Monitor PSC inspection and deficiency and correspond with relevant parties to ensure compliance with international rules and meet commercial requirements
  • Consolidate PSC / FSI deficiencies of the fleet, analyze same, and put in place measures for avoiding re-occurrence
  • Participate in daily operation and running of fleet vessels and responsible for cost-effective, safe, and efficient operations of the ships
  • Responsible for all HSE monthly reports and taking relevant action as required by the circumstances for the safe/smooth running of vessels.
  • Ensure correct accounting of all expenses and monitor operating budget related to HSE. Monitor deficiencies reported by vessels and take appropriate action to rectify them cost-effectively.
  • Analyze data on Injuries, Incidents, and Near Misses and consolidate data to be included in Management Review Meetings
  • Assist / Carry out other tasks as assigned by Head of Ship Management

Primary Responsibilities - Crewing

  • Assist in sourcing and recruitment of all crew through manning agents for the Company managed vessels including preparation of employment contracts.
  • Ensure that the crew is qualified i.e. meet the Company and flag state requirements with regards to certification and experience prior to joining the vessel.
  • Liaise with flag state on crew-related issues.
  • Plan and oversee crew schedule, crew rotation, sign-on/off documentation, crew welfare.
  • Oversee and approve crew payroll and ensure crew’s final accounts are managed and paid on time.
  • Liaise with Masters, port authorities, manning agents to ensure seamless operations

Requirements

  • Class I/II Deck Officer with at least 5-7 years of sailing experience
  • Candidate with experience of working ashore handling HSEA and/or crewing preferred.
  • Willing to take up challenges and ability to interact and communicate well across teams.
  • Able to generate reports, analyze data, write system documentation, etc. with good command of English, both oral and written.
  • Organized & attentive to detail, good interpersonal skills to manage a crew onboard vessels and to interact with team ashore
