Senior Accountant (EMEA coverage based in SG)

Our client is a leading medical device brand and has its global HQ in Singapore. We are looking to hire a solid accountant who has knowledge of closing, reporting, audit and compliances of EMEA countries and will be based in SG.

About the Job

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Local Statutory Compliance (EMEA) Senior Accountant. This role is based in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date calendar of local statutory filing requirements for our EMEA subsidiaries and branches. You will plan and coordinate audits and the preparation of statutory financial statements to ensure timely compliance with filing deadlines. Additionally, you will expertly prepare IFRS statutory financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Statement of Profit or Loss, Statement of Equity, Statement of Cash Flows, and the Notes to the Accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a calendar of statutory filing requirements of each EMEA subsidiaries and branches.
  • Plan the annual audits along the filing timelines of the subsidiaries and branches.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS gained from working in Big 4 CPA or 2nd tier CPA firms
  • Able to liaise with external auditors and support the execution of local statutory audits
  • Overseeing EMEA subsidiaries and branches accounting and work closely with the BPO and EMEA accounting teams to close the books of the subsidiaries/branches and prepare the required audit schedules to support efficient annual audits with the external auditors.
  • Provide all necessary analysis and reports for the local statutory financial statements.
  • Know and ensure that IFRS standards and internal policies are appropriately applied.
  • Work closely with the BPO in Poland and India to support the annual audits of EMEA subsidiaries and branches.

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance or Accounting. MBA is a plus.
  • Big 4 CPA is strongly preferred.

 

Key Skills / Core Competencies

  • Proficient in IFRS and preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Experienced in auditing or preparing Balance Sheets, Profit or Loss Statements, Equity Statements, Cash Flow Statements, and Notes to Accounts.
  • Capable of coordinating with multiple international auditing teams across EMEA, managing their deliverables within deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to Europe as needed.
  • Professional with a commitment to quality, skilled in preparing accurate audit schedules and supporting statutory financial statements.
  • Extensive experience with MS Excel.
  • Possesses an international perspective, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across borders and cultures.
  • Knowledge of additional European languages is a plus as this role supports EMEA Markets
