Our client is a UK-listed company in the specialised chemicals industry. They are looking for an accountant who will be responsible for related accounting and tax activities including cost control against the plan, management reporting, tax reporting and product costings.

 

Responsibilities:

Analyse, interpret and adjust site management accounts in order to provide accurate financial reporting. Any problems identified are resolved immediately in discussion with the relevant department. Problems can be complex in terms of troubleshooting and links with other departments. This can range from short to long-term and can involve dealing with information that has a high degree of confidentiality.

 

Ensure that company accounting standards (Cowick Ordinance) and International accounting standards (IFRS) are complied with in order to satisfy internal and external auditing and regulatory expectations.

 

The role requires regular communication with departmental on-site as well as off-site communication with the head office, accounts department, external auditors and vendors.

 

The support part of the account payables process, communicating with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate posting of invoices and expenses.

 

Provide product costing support tas and when required, support the quarterly and annual stock take.

 

Support the coordination of the annual planning and forecasting process over all departments. This involves a high degree of planning to ensure all of the required information is collated and analysed.

 

This role requires an in-depth and specialist knowledge of the financial accounting systems such as SAP, BPC and BI. The job holder will be the department's specialist in these areas and will be expected to train and support other users whilst continually working to ensure optimal use and efficiency.

 

Provide financial and tax activities to aid decision-making where needed.

 

The job holder will be involved in ad-hoc projects and will be expected to work autonomously on such projects with little or no guidance.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A high degree of competence in all SAP accounting and inventory management functions.

A broad range of competence in other key areas within SAP.

Ability to plan multiple activities with competing priorities.

Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.

In-depth knowledge of corporate business procedures.

High level of interpersonal skills.

Understanding of site regulatory requirements.

Competent IT skills.

Attention to detail and work standards

 

Experience:

· 4-7 years of related working experience

 

Education:

· Diploma / Degree in Accounting
