The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with Group policies and regulations, preparing and publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data and variances, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue and profit, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
As part of the Global Shared Service Finance team, this position will be responsible for all financial and management reporting of all 4 businesses in Singapore, ensuring accuracy and timely analysis for the Business Units.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Financial Reporting Management Leadership
- Financial reporting and oversight of weekly reporting, and month-end and year-end close process
- Support annual strategic planning and forecasting processes including setting operational & financial targets
- Control quality and ensure timely submission of Actuals, Forecast and Budget exercises
- Provide insight on financial performance such as profitability on product margin, expenses and working capital
Compliance & Financial Control
- Monitor business control effectiveness and develop/execute improvement plans to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Implement key controls in accordance with the Group's Minimum Controls Standards in Singapore
- Ensure the entities comply with relevant trade compliance regulations
- Ability to identify risk and manage these risk with the Division leaders
- Coordinating audit processes
?Budgetary
- ?Work with Budget Owners to get an understanding of performance, analyse variances and prepare forecasts/budget.
- Lead budget variance commentary and reporting
- Target areas of expense overruns/inconsistencies and implement corrective measures
Treasury & Secretarial
- ?Compliance with the Group treasury policy
- Provide accurate cash-flow forecasting
- Monitor and manage working capital and share best practices
- Manage banking relationship
- Manage company secretarial matters
Ethics & Best Practices
- Operate within Company policies and procedures such as Code of Business Ethics and Accounting Manual with a high level of integrity
- Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement
Experience & Background
- 10 years of experience in financial controlling and reporting for a regional business with consolidated revenue
- Possess some knowledgeable in a global VAT, indirect taxes and statutory filings
- Experience of working in well-established global multinationals with matrix reporting structures. Ability to report to a senior level outside the country whilst supporting the local business management
- Strong exposure to financial control; budgeting and management reporting; and ensuring adherence to statutory requirements
- Ability to lead a team of 5-6 Accountants
- Preferable with knowledge of treasury, tax and transfer pricing, but not a must
- Exposure to IFRS reporting would be considered advantageous
- Qualified Chartered Accountant from a recognized professional accountancy body
