Key Responsibilities:
Technical Management & Operations:
- Oversee vessel inspection and ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
 - Ensure high-quality maintenance as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
 - Supervise day-to-day vessel operations and advise Line Manager on performance, budget, and any incidents.
 - Coordinate with Procurement for spare part supplies, ensuring cost-effective replenishment.
 - Implement and communicate the company’s health, safety, environment, and quality policies onboard.
 - Manage technical mobilizations, dry-docking, repairs, and refits.
 
Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with IMO, Flag State, and Port State regulations.
 - Maintain ship certificates, renewals, and survey statuses.
 
Financial Management:
- Monitor and report vessel budgets, ensuring they stay within the agreed targets (currently a 3% variance).
 - Collaborate with technical, purchasing, and finance teams to manage costs.
 - Plan and execute dry-docking activities within allocated budgets.
 
Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
 - Implement continuous improvement projects with the Quality team.
 - Set performance expectations for crew and maintain updated SOPs.
 
Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Foster a strong safety culture on-board all vessels.
 - Ensure a qualified representative responds to emergencies promptly.
 - Monitor safety risks and take corrective actions, escalating when necessary.
 - Deliver safety training and messages to offshore employees.
 
People & Leadership:
- Set clear goals and expectations for onboard employees.
 - Lead, mentor, and motivate offshore teams, focusing on their personal and professional development.
 - Conduct performance discussions to encourage learning and improvement.
 - Maintain a talent pool and ensure continuous engagement with top performers.
 
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering
 - MEO Class 1 COC
 - Minimum 1 year as Chief Engineer, preferably with LPG, LNG, Oil Tanker and dry-docking experience.
 - Experience in shore-based technical roles, including dry-docking or Class surveyor roles.
 
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Classification Society procedures and regulations.
 - Previous people management experience.
 - Proven experience with dry dockings, ship repairs, and in-water repairs.
 - Strong commercial acumen and financial management of vessels.
 - IT literate, with business administration qualifications being an advantage.
