Our client is a global shipping company looking for someone to join their fast-growing teams in Singapore.
Responsibilities
To provide 1st & 2nd level IT support services to the managed vessels via telephone or remote connection.
Install or replace/improve IT infrastructure onboard vessels for new builds, during dry-dock operations and/or vessel visits.
Install or replace/improve Vessel communications (VSAT, FBB, Certus) infrastructure onboard vessels for new builds, during dry-dock operations and/or vessel visits.
Monitor performance of IT systems on-board, including vessel communications.
Document IT procedures and use of IT systems on-board vessels.
To train vessel crew in the correct use and maintenance of IT systems on-board vessels.
Liaise with third-party software vendors on support and development issues. Guide Third parties on supporting vessels onboard and remotely.
To perform scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs to LAN network on-board vessels as well as vessel infrastructure ashore.
To participate in projects and assist in the development of new IT solutions for use on our fleet

Cybersecurity Related Tasks
Virtual Infrastructure Management and Backups
Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and rest parameters of the windows-based environment.
Assist with a number of hardware and software-based C&I (Control & Instrumentation) systems of the fleet such as
Maintenance / Support on SCADA Installations and related instruments/sensors
Liaising with installation/project engineers
Reviewing installation reports and electrical drawings
Site commissioning, ad hoc servicing, and repair where is possible.
Providing on-board technical support.
Core Competencies
Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts, and designing techniques.
Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures, and various compatibility requirements.
Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes, and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
Cybersecurity Expert / Enthusiastic with experience with Firewalls’, VLANs etc.
Proficient in computer networking design, implementation, and maintenance. Experience with Fortinet products will be considered as an advantage.
Good knowledge of Helpdesk procedures and system monitoring technologies/practices.
Experience in High Availability infrastructure

Requirements:
Formal education: bachelor level – a degree in IT, Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
Experience: min. 5-7 years of IT infrastructure-related experience. 2-5 Years in the Shipping industry.
Other qualifications: ITIL, MSCE
Additional skills: Experience in industrial automation, control, and instrumentation or any data acquisition system will be considered as an advantage
