1st August 2017 was the day when we inaugurated Caliber8 and we are proud to announce that we have been going strong ever since. Throughout these years, we have been consistent with our belief of adding value in every aspect of the recruitment space within Maritime and Accounting & Finance disciplines.
From working with our dream team to achieving so much in such a little time, we have surely come a long way. And now is the time to celebrate our success. And like every other successful business, we too have a story and vision behind Caliber8 that we’d like to share with you.
Here’s an excerpt of what drove our founder, Brijesh Mongia, to come up with Caliber8.
Why are you passionate about your field of work?
I have always been fascinated about Maritime as an industry since my childhood. This made me pursue my education in Marine Engineering and sail on board various types of vessels around the globe. After learning the technical side of the business, I soon wanted to understand the dynamics of commercial shipping which made me do my Masters at CASS Business School, London in Shipping, Trade and Finance. Doing what I do now makes me an integral part of the maritime industry; interact with current and future maritime leaders; find people their dream jobs and get the best talent available for our customers who can then further be a part of the growth and development of shipping industry!
What personal experiences led you down to this path?
Job search has always been a tiring exercise and I got my own personal experience which was frustrating, time consuming and a lot of times a sour experience. I wasn’t fortunate enough to receive calls from recruiters to just understand my profile, meet in person and get a better understanding of the market, which left me on my own and assuming things which would not always be right! This made me believe that there definitely is a market for specialist recruitment consultants who not only are from the same industry, but are also able to meet proactively and guide both candidates and clients on traditional and non-traditional hiring and opportunities.
Any major company accomplishments under your leadership?
Caliber8 has grown many folds as an organization. We always believed in our unique selling point of hiring Consultants with front line industry experience in the respective disciplines and train them to provide a strong value proposition to both clients and candidates. We have tripled our staff strength in our first 3 years of setting up and are confident to grow further in the coming months and years. Caliber8 has been able to attract top talent and connect them with the Fortune 500 companies. Attracting industry specialists and training them to be a successful recruiter has been one of our major accomplishments!
We would, in the end, like to raise a toast to our staff who worked harder to achieve the feathers we have in our cap, to our clients who believed in us and to the candidates who made us proud by trusting us with their career. Cheers to many more such success stories with Caliber8!
