We are looking for an experienced and driven professional to join a global shipping company as Manager, Agency Network Management. This role will be based in Singapore and requires a deep understanding of agency operations, corporate governance, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will manage a portfolio of countries and act as a key liaison between HQ and regional agency offices to ensure strategic alignment, financial accountability, and operational efficiency.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of countries in terms of agency corporate governance, performance management, and commercial activities

  • Oversee board/management structures, ownership frameworks, CAPEX & OPEX plans, and commission negotiations

  • Collaborate with the Agency Finance Controller to review and monitor agency financial performance, cost structures, dividends, and budget adherence

  • Lead annual budget planning with agency and HQ participation, track and report on execution

  • Support M&A projects through structured project management

  • Drive performance improvements across agencies by working closely with business units and HQ stakeholders

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement preventive actions based on stakeholder feedback and operational insights

  • Assist in executing transformation initiatives, contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement projects

  • Maintain strong relationships with local partners to ensure sound corporate governance

  • Handle commercial activities such as detention/demurrage post-waivers and third-party billing for container repair waivers

  • Occasional travel to regional offices may be required


Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in container or dry bulk shipping

  • Proven experience in managing agency relationships and corporate governance

  • Strong analytical, financial, and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities

  • Experience in corporate, trade, or finance-related roles is a plus
