The HSEQ & Marine Director is directly responsible to Managing Director and General Manager/Head of Ship Management for the effective Technical management of the company. To ensure that all functions are carried out in a socially, environmentally and economically responsible manner fostering safe and ethical behavior.
- Managing all aspects of the company’s Safety Management Systems and procedures.
- Managing all aspects of the company’s HSEQ audits onboard vessels as well as in the office.
- Managing all aspects of maintaining Oil Major Approval, standard for tankers, Rightship standard for dry-bulk ships and TMSA for company
- Present ISM/HSEQ/Security matters to the top management and gain sustained support for safety management
- Ensure that the company and its fleet are fit for purpose in all respects in compliance with the legislative & company’s internal policies
Reports to: The Managing Director, General Manager
Co-ordinates with: DPA, Fleet Manager, Crew Manager
Supervises: HSEQ & Marine Managers, HSEQ & Marine Superintendents & HSEQ staff
Training: In compliance with the ISM code, particularly with regards to:
- Knowledge and understanding of the ISM code;
- Mandatory rules and regulations;
- Applicable codes, guidelines and standards as appropriate;
- Assessment techniques of examining , questioning, evaluating and reporting;
- Technical or operational aspects of safety management;
- Appropriate knowledge of shipping and shipboard operations;
