Responsibilities:
Collaborate with leadership to identify new projects/initiatives and set operational plans that meet the future demands of the function.
• First level of escalation for incidents and disputes. Provide subject matter expertise to contain and resolve the situation and/or escalate accordingly.
• Develop and optimize bunkering strategies to align with voyage objectives.
• Ensure the portfolio is optimised for every voyage and conduct post-voyage and month end analysis
• Identify opportunities to optimise Bunker spend and Port spend and Responsible for the portfolios spend.
• Identify key risks to the operation and develop strategical and sustainable solutions for safe and efficient operation.
• Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including vessel owners, clients, agents and terminals, to ensure seamless
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of operators, providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative work environment
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
• Marine based diploma or degree or equivalent
• Industry related experience, ideally in dry bulk shipping
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in commercial shipping operations
• Demonstrated achievement and accomplishment in chosen discipline via practical application of knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate and problem solve non-routine and complex problems
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of maritime regulations, standards and legislation
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Proven capability to network and establish/maintain relationships
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple and complex work fronts in demanding operational environments
• Detailed knowledge of charter parties and shipping contracts
• Working knowledge of maritime logistics and integrated supply chain interfaces
• Skilled in leading and managing commercial maritime operational teams
