Key Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance & Repairs:Oversees the planning and execution of both routine maintenance and major repairs, including dry-docking, to ensure the fleet's optimal condition.

Budget Management:Develops and controls the technical operating budgets for the managed fleet, approving invoices and managing expenditures.

Technical Performance:Monitors the technical performance of vessels, ensuring they operate within acceptable limits and initiating corrective actions when performance falls short.

Regulatory Compliance:Ensures vessels comply with all relevant international rules, regulations, class society requirements, and environmental standards.

Documentation & Reporting:Prepares and maintains technical documentation, including hull and machinery claims, and ensures timely dispatch of all technical reports.

Vessel Inspections:Conducts regular on-board inspections to assess the technical condition of the vessels and identify areas requiring attention.

Contractor & Supplier Management:Supervises contractors and identifies and manages suppliers for necessary parts, stores, and equipment, maintaining quality standards.

Technical Support:Provides technical expertise and advice to company management and assists in developing company policies on technical matters.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive knowledge of ship systems, operations, and technical issues.
Strong understanding of regulatory standards, environmental compliance, and classification society procedures.Experience as a Chief Engineer or in a similar senior technical role on a relevant vessel type (e.g.,Oil tanker is often preferred.)
Budgeting and financial management skills to control operational costs
Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with shore-based staff and shipboard personnel
