Job Title: Technical Superintendent – Dry Ships

Job Summary:
The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical management of assigned dry vessels (e.g., bulk carriers, general cargo ships). This includes overseeing maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with class, flag, and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day technical operations of assigned dry ships.

Ensure vessels are operated in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner in compliance with international regulations, company standards, and client requirements.

Plan, manage, and oversee routine and non-routine maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities.

Monitor vessel performance and initiate corrective actions as needed.

Prepare and manage technical budgets, and ensure cost control measures are in place.

Liaise with ship captains and chief engineers to support vessel performance and resolve technical issues.

Conduct regular vessel inspections and prepare inspection reports.

Coordinate with classification societies, flag state authorities, and external contractors.

Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.

Monitor spare parts and consumables inventory and coordinate requisitions.

Provide emergency technical support to vessels 24/7 as required.

Ensure compliance with ISM/ISPS Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other relevant regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering or equivalent.

Class 1 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (preferable).

Minimum of 3–5 years of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on dry ships.

Prior experience as a Technical Superintendent managing dry vessels is preferred.

Strong knowledge of dry-docking, ship repairs, maintenance, and marine regulations.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and ship management software (e.g., AMOS, TM Master).
