Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and technically competent Technical Superintendent to manage a fleet of fully refrigerated LPG carriers (Type A containment system). Based in Singapore, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operations of the vessels in compliance with company policies, class and flag requirements, and international maritime regulations.
This is a key shore-based position that interfaces closely with the vessel crew, internal stakeholders, classification societies, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:

Vessel Technical Management:
Oversee all aspects of technical performance and maintenance of assigned LPG carriers, with a focus on cargo containment systems, reliquefaction plants, and gas-handling safety. -
Regulatory & Class Compliance:
Ensure vessels meet all IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, IGC Code, Flag State, and Class requirements. Lead ISM and ISPS compliance activities. -
Dry Docking & Major Repairs:
Plan, budget, and execute dry-docking, intermediate surveys, and retrofits, including preparation of specs, vendor management, and post-project reporting. -
Maintenance Oversight:
Monitor Planned Maintenance System (PMS) compliance and conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical issues. -
Budget Management:
Prepare and manage vessel budgets (OPEX and CAPEX), track expenditure, and ensure cost control while maintaining operational efficiency. -
Technical Inspections:
Perform regular shipboard inspections, including pre-docking visits and condition assessments, and support vetting and port state control inspections. -
Crew Support:
Provide technical guidance to Masters and Chief Engineers, support onboard training related to cargo systems and safety practices. -
Stakeholder Reporting:
Prepare detailed technical reports, KPIs, and performance reviews for internal management and vessel owners.
Qualifications & Experience:

Education & Certification:

Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Chief Engineer) or equivalent

Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related discipline

Experience:

Minimum 2 years sea experience as Chief Engineer or 1st Assistant Engineer on LPG carriers (fully refrigerated, Type A)

At least 2–3 years of shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent handling gas carriers

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of LPG cargo systems, reliquefaction plants, compressors, IG/FG systems, and related equipment

Familiar with IGC Code, SIGTTO guidelines, and OCIMF vetting processes
