Key Accountabilities
- Partner with the Marine Operations Project team to develop and implement the “Safety & Crew Welfare” initiatives
- Represent Chartering interests in the development of new initiatives
- Assisting the Project team to lift the standard of Safety across counterparties (vessel owners, technical managers, members of the shipping industry)
- Liaising with Legal to review requests to adjust Charter Party’s
- Transforming the Chartering Process (digital systems, training, roll-out, embed process, etc.)
- Provide support to ongoing Chartering Optimisation & Projects Team initiatives
- Support the Chartering Optimisation & Projects Manager in ongoing initiatives
About you
The ideal candidate will be quick on the uptake a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills combined with the relevant experience described below.
• Ability to work in a matrix team environment
• 2+ years relevant experience in Dry Bulk Cargo Chartering
• Strong report writing and presentation skills
• Excellent negotiation and influencing ability
• Ability to lead projects and manage stakeholder engagement
• Ability to think laterally with limited guidance
• Familiarity with Charter Party Contract T&C’s
• Previous experience in project design and implementation (beneficial)
