Group Head of Credit Risk, Compliance & Legal (High-Growth Fintech (GCC))
 
Join a leading GCC-based financial group with expanding operations across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. We are seeking a highly experienced Group Head of Credit Risk, Compliance & Legal to design, lead, and integrate governance frameworks that safeguard growth, ensure regulatory adherence, and manage legal complexities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
 
Credit Risk
  • Develop and manage enterprise-wide credit risk frameworks and policies.
  • Set risk appetite, conduct portfolio analysis, and oversee counterparty due diligence.
  • Partner with Finance/Commercial teams to ensure balanced credit growth and risk control.
Compliance
  • Lead compliance management system covering ethics, anti-bribery, anti-fraud, AML and sanctions.
  • Liaise with regulators; ensure adherence to global and local laws (with focus on GCC regulatory frameworks).
  • Implement codes of conduct, whistleblowing channels, and compliance training.
Legal
  • Provide legal advisory to Board and senior management on contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory matters.
  • Oversee third-party agreements, M&A legal support, and dispute resolution.
  • Manage external counsel and ensure policies/procedures meet GCC legal standards.
Leadership & Strategy
  • Integrate credit, compliance, and legal into a unified governance framework.
  • Drive transparency, accountability, and ethical culture across the organization.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to CEO/Board on governance and risk strategy.
 
Requirements
  • 15+ years’ experience across Credit Risk, Compliance, and Legal leadership.
  • Proven track record in GCC/Dubai markets with strong regional regulatory knowledge.
  • Strong expertise in international frameworks (FCPA, UK Bribery Act, AML, sanctions).
  • Experience engaging directly with regulators, Boards, and executive leadership.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ICA, CCEP-I) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
