Accountant (Global Shipping MNC)

Our client is a global shipping company with their Middle East HQ based in Dubai. As a part of their expansion plan, they are looking to hire a hands on Accountant reporting into the Finance Controller based in Dubai.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. IFRS).
  • Prepare and file all required statutory financial reports, tax returns, and regulatory disclosures in a timely manner.
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoice verification, payment processing, and reconciliation.
  • Manage cash flow tracking and reporting.
  • Support audit processes, including preparation of documentation, responding to inquiries and implementing recommended controls.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare month-end/year-end closing entries.
  • Assist with financial analysis and reporting for management decision-making.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least 3-4 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience demonstrating proficiency in financial record-keeping and reporting.

 

Accounting Degree or equivalent.

  • Experience with SAP financial modules is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present financial information clearly to different audiences.
  • Maintain complete and accurate bookkeeping for all assigned entities.
  • Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and manage payment workflows.
  • Develop and maintain financial records and schedules in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Implement and enforce established accounting policies across all financial activities.
  • Execute accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Support budget planning, monitoring, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Perform additional financial tasks and special projects as requested by management.
