Talent Acquisition Manager (Shipping Industry)
Our client is a leading European shipping company and is looking to hire a Talent Acquisition Manager to set up their TA team. This role will create the TA function where currently the HRBP's are leading the TA initiatives.
OVERALL SUMMARY
- The Manager (HR), Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading the Group’s Talent Acquisition strategy and governance framework to ensure effective, consistent, and scalable recruitment practices across all offices within the organisation.
- The role establishes and standardises recruitment policies, processes, assessment methodologies, and workforce planning alignment to ensure uniformity in how recruitment is managed by HRBPs across regions.
- The role provides functional oversight and guidance to HR Business Partners on all Talent Acquisition matters, including hiring standards, role levelling, offer governance, and process compliance.
- In addition, the role serves as a HR Business Partner to designated Business Units (BUs), supporting workforce planning, employee lifecycle management, engagement, performance management, and organisational development initiatives.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Develop and implement a Group-wide Talent Acquisition strategy aligned with business growth plans and manpower projections.
- Translate workforce plans into structured hiring roadmaps, including role prioritisation, timelines, sourcing strategies, and resource allocation.
- Provide functional direction and oversight to HRBPs across all offices to ensure consistency in recruitment standards, role levelling, and selection quality.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives, forecast workforce needs, and develop talent acquisition and succession planning strategies.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for designated BUs, including candidate screening, interviewing, offer preparation, onboarding, personnel records administration, probation monitoring, and confirmation processes.
- Manage offboarding processes, conduct exit interviews, advice on pro-rated benefits, confirmation of final day of service, and feedback collection to support organisational improvement
- Collaborate with line managers to conduct training needs analysis and identify skill gaps within their teams to support professional development initiatives and ensure alignment with the broader organisational objectives.
Projects and Assignments
- Lead or support HR transformation projects relating to Talent Acquisition, including system enhancements and process redesign.
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development team on structured internship, graduate, or early-career hiring initiatives to strengthen long-term talent pipelines.
- Support or lead additional projects, assignments, and other ad hoc duties as directed by the General Manager (Human Resources).
Successful Applicant:
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in Talent Acquisition leadership.
- • Proven experience establishing and managing Talent Acquisition governance across multiple functions and geographies.
- Experience in ship management, maritime, engineering, or asset intensive industries preferred.
- Experience working within a multicultural and multi jurisdictional environment
- Strong understanding of workforce planning, recruitment governance, and talent market dynamics.
- Experience designing and implementing structured recruitment frameworks and competency-based assessment methodologies.
- Proficient in HR systems and data analytics tools (Workday HCM preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at multiple levels capabilities.
