Overall Summary

The Executive (Operations) supports the execution of voyage and time charter operations for bulk carrier vessels, ensuring compliance with Charter Party requirements while maintaining strong service standards and cost control.

The role works closely with Operations Superintendents, Chartering, Technical, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth voyage execution, timely reporting, and operational efficiency.

A basic understanding of Charter Party terms and bulk cargo operations is preferred.
 


Key Responsibilities

Voyage & Charter Operations

  • Monitor vessel movements and update IMOS, voyage manager, and position lists

  • Assist in planning and execution of pre-fixture and post-fixture operational activities

  • Review fixture recaps and highlight key Charter Party requirements to relevant stakeholders

  • Coordinate sailing instructions, bunker planning, surveys, and vessel readiness for voyages

  • Monitor voyage performance including bunker consumption and report deviations

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with Masters, charterers, brokers, agents, and third parties on voyage-related matters

  • Support handling of cargo-related issues including breakbulk, OOG, DG approvals, and operational queries

  • Coordinate with Technical, Insurance & Claims, and Security teams on operational requirements

Time Charter Support

  • Assist with delivery and redelivery procedures including notices and surveys

  • Maintain operational records and correspondence throughout the charter period

  • Support off-hire, deviation reporting, and charterer expense tracking where required

Operational Administration

  • Maintain voyage documentation and reporting templates in IMOS

  • Coordinate appointment of agents, surveyors, and service providers as instructed

  • Support weather routing coordination and monitor voyage risks

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Superintendent / Manager


Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, or related discipline

  • 1–2 years of experience in shipping operations (bulk experience preferred)

  • Basic understanding of Charter Party and voyage execution processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email communication

  • Strong communication, coordination, and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
