The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, and commercially efficient operation of PCTC vessels, ensuring optimal voyage execution while maintaining strong customer satisfaction and adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

This role works closely with Masters, Chartering, HSEQ, and technical teams to support vessel readiness, operational performance, and continuous improvement across the fleet.


Key Responsibilities

Voyage & Commercial Operations

  • Manage end-to-end voyage execution for PCTC vessels in line with Charter Party requirements and commercial objectives

  • Monitor vessel performance, routing, weather exposure, bunker consumption, and operational efficiency

  • Provide operational guidance to Masters on cargo readiness, port requirements, and voyage optimization

  • Ensure timely communication with charterers on vessel movements and operational updates

  • Review loading/discharge plans and ensure compliance with cargo safety and terminal requirements

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support vessels in terminal inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance across ports and flag requirements

  • Participate in incident investigation, safety reviews, and implementation of corrective actions

  • Coordinate with HSEQ teams on inspections, NCR follow-ups, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Review sensitive ports and terminals and provide risk assessment and operational guidance

Cost Control & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Review and approve PDA/DA and monitor voyage-related costs for operational efficiency

  • Coordinate bunker planning and ensure voyage sufficiency and compliance with environmental requirements

  • Work closely with agents, charterers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth port operations

  • Ensure proper accounting and funding of voyage disbursements

Fleet Performance & Leadership

  • Monitor vessel operational KPIs and address under-performance with Masters and technical teams

  • Provide operational briefings to senior officers prior to vessel assignment

  • Support, coach, and guide operations team members where required

  • Lead or participate in vessel inspections, audits, and improvement initiatives


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Master Mariner with PCTC sailing experience

  • Minimum 3 years of shore-based experience within Marine Superintendent, Operations, or HSEQ functions

  • Proven experience managing multiple vessels (up to 10 ships) within a shipmanagement or shipowner environment

  • Strong exposure to audits, inspections, safety compliance, and incident investigation

  • Solid understanding of Charter Party operations, voyage economics, and PCTC cargo operations

  • Strong stakeholder management, decision-making, and leadership skills
