Head of Marketing (Medical Device) Relocation to India

 

Our client is a leading listed US MNC and a world leader in their area of specialisation. They are a mature organisation in India having their presence for over two decades and are looking for a dynamic Head of Marketing to achieve their ambitious growth targets.

 

Primary Purpose of Role:

To develop, establish, and execute strategies (short and long term) for the medical device portfolio to deliver against agreed growth targets.

 

Reporting into the country manage, your main responsibilities will be as below:

 

Develop short- and long-term business and marketing plans for the India Surgical business and consistently deliver.

 

  • Ensure seamless execution in achieving top-line growth and market share.
  • Achievement of brand sales objectives and market share targets.
  • Provide ongoing insights and recommendations to improve the profitability of the business.
  • Launch new brands with the aim of obtaining targeted market share and price, through product launch velocity (PLV) execution process.
  • Own SOV projects to ensure optimum brand and presence, in accordance with budget and strategies.
  • Regular review, course correction and realignment of the marketing strategies as required to ensure we lead the market.
  • Safe and effective use of our products and understanding of the specialties in which we operate.

 

Operational Effectiveness and Seamless Commercial Execution.

 

  • Take lead in strategic plan development and budget preparation, providing accurate and realistic forecast for sales and BU expenses in brand marketing, aligned with market trends and company strategies.
  • Execute field visits to inspect marketing strategies’ execution, customer feedbacks, market trends, and competitive updates. Accordingly develop and recommend tactics to counter and seize opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with key customers.
  • Implementation of regular reviews of key competitors and their emerging business situations followed by appropriate response action to ensure we lead the market.
  • Responsible for KOL development, engagement, and management.
  • Actively develop strong connections with local, regional, and international key stakeholders within within the organisation.
  • Ensure team compliance of company SOPs, vigilance reporting, code of conduct and local regulations.

Organizational Development.

 

  • Act as a senior leader in the business unit. Facilitate strong connections with the key stakeholders from sales and key accounts at an India level.
  • Actively provide insights to the Franchise Head on how to continue to improve the success and profitability of the India business.
  • Lead and motivate others in improving the capability of the team and holding people accountable.
  • Drive the desired behaviors and accountabilities across the surgical marketing team.

 

Experience (Years):

  • Strong marketing experience, with evidence of at least 2 years at the Marketing Head level.
  • Overall at least 15 years’ experience in the medical device, capital intensive equipment sector (associated to healthcare) or any other surgical business.
  • Proven capability in strategic marketing.
  • Proven success in effectively building KOL relationships.
  • Experience in the medical device and/or specialty pharmaceutical industries preferred.
  • Experience in new age digital and direct to ‘prospect’ marketing will be an added advantage.
