Job Purpose
The Marine Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of oil tankers owned by the company. The role involves close coordination with vessel Masters, technical teams, chartering, and external stakeholders to maintain high operational standards in line with company policies and international regulations.
This role is open to Masters on Oil Tankers looking to transition ashore as well as experienced Marine Superintendents with prior shore-based exposure.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee marine operations of assigned oil tanker vessels

Ensure compliance with:
-
ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS
-
Flag State and Port State Control requirements
-
Company and oil major operational standards
Monitor navigational safety, cargo operations, and mooring practices
Provide operational guidance and support to Masters and senior officers
Prepare and support vessels for:
SIRE and oil major vetting inspections
Port State Control inspections
Review incidents, near misses, and non-conformities and ensure timely closure
Liaise with charterers, terminals, agents, and service providers
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements – Fresh Master (Shore Transition)

Valid Master Mariner Certificate of Competency

Minimum 12 months of sailing experience as Master on Oil Tankers

SIRE and vetting inspections

Tanker safety management practices
Good understanding of international maritime regulations
Strong communication and documentation skills
Willingness to adapt to shore-based operational responsibilities

Proven track record of managing tanker operations and inspections
